Moses absent in Chelsea win

Nigerian winger Victor Moses was neither in the starting line-up or on the bench for his club Chelsea during their Premier League encounter against Cardiff on Saturday.

The Blues came from a goal down to defeat their visitors 4-1 in a thrilling game at Stamford Bridge.

After the opener by Bamba, a hattrick by Eden Hazard and another goal by Willian sealed the victory for Chelsea, who have won all five games this season.

Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi was also absent in the matchday squad for Arsenal, who triumphed 2-1 over Newcastle to secure their third win of the season.

Goals by Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil were enough to seal the win, as a late goal by Ciaran Clark could not help the hosts share from the spoils.

Elsewhere, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi suffered defeat with Leicester, who fell 4-2 at Bournemouth and also finished with 10 men after a fierce challenge saw Wes Morgan sent off.

In the other Premier League games played concurrently, champions Manchester City thrashed Fulham 3-0 to maintain their unbeaten run, while Crystal Palace defeated their hosts Huddersfield 1-0.

Earlier in the day, Liverpool defeated Tottenham 2-1 to maintain their 100% start to the season.
