Super Eagles and Chelsea of England winger, Victor Moses has been nominated for the 2017 BBC African Footballer of the Year award.

Moses is one of the five nominees shortlisted to battle for the crown and stands a great chance of becoming the first Nigerian player to win the award since Jay-Jay Okocha in 2004.

The other contenders are Gabon and Borussia Dortmund striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Guinea and RB Leipzig midfielder, Naby Keita, Senegal and Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane, and Egypt and Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah.

Moses, who has helped Nigeria seal their place in next year’s FIFA World Cup, played a vital role in Chelsea’s victory in the English Premier League last season.

He, alongside the other nominees for the BBC award, is also on a 30-man shortlist for the CAF African Footballer of the Year Award.

The winner will be announced on December 11.
