Moses Simon out of Zambia clash

Super Eagles’ forward Moses Simon will likely miss the World Cup qualifier against Zambia as it has been confirmed by his Club, KAA Gent that the lad has a hamstring injury.

The 21- year old suffered a tear in the hamstring in the closing minutes of the first half during Gent’s 1-1 draw with Sporting Braga in the Europa League last Thursday.

Although it Hein Vanhaezebrouck, Gent’s manager, did not reveal the number of weeks the Nigerian will have to spend on the bench, but it is assumed that he will be unavailable for selection for up to three weeks.

However, Super Eagles’ technical adviser Gernot Rohr is yet to select players for the clash.

Nigeria will on October 2, play against the Chipolopolo of Zambia in Ndola, Zambia and will also face the likes of Cameroun and Algeria to secure the 2018 W/C cup ticket, having failed to qualify for AFCON 2017.
