It was the Belgian’s sixth Premier League goal of the season following up on his sublime winner against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup last Wednesday.

Both teams wasted a number of chances afterwards with Hazard coming close to doubling Chelsea’s lead in the second half. Xherdan Shaqiri and Roberto Firmino also missed chances for Liverpool.

Substitute Daniel Sturridge equalised for Liverpool two minutes from time with a well placed shot outside the box.
