Mother of Labour Party’s National Chairman abducted by gunmen

Elizabeth Omotosho , mother of the National Chairman of Labour Party, Dr Mike Omotosho, has reportedly been abducted by four gunmen.

Omotosho, who confirmed the kidnap of his 71-year-old mother, said she was abducted at her family house, at No 23, Lobalade Street, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State, between 7pm and 8pm on Sunday.

He said the police headquarters in Abuja, as well as the Kwara State police command had been contacted on the abduction.

The Labour Party chairman appealed to members of the public with useful information that will lead to the rescue of his mother to contact law enforcement agencies.

Confirming the abduction, The Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi, said the state police command had launched investigation into the matter, and was already coordinating rescue effort.

He advised residents of the state not to panic, adding that things were under control.
