United boss Jose Mourinho has launched a fresh attack on his Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger, claiming he is under more Premier League pressure because he has been a specialist in winning.

He said: “The Arsenal manager hasn’t won a championship in 14 years. I haven’t won a championship in 18 months. He, in 14 years, failed to build a team to be champion.

“I’ve been here for four months. And the demand is only for me and not for others,” Mourinho spoke out after seeing his Manchester United side held on Saturday by Wenger’s Arsenal to a 1-1 draw.

As it can be recalled, Wenger last lifted the Premier League in 2004, but has since won three FA Cups, while Mourinho has – in that time – clinched three titles at Chelsea, two at Inter Milan, along with the Champions League, and the Spanish league with Real Madrid.

The Portuguese added: “It must be because of the career I’ve made. Because I got to the clubs and always won right away.

“And this is a more difficult reality, because it is an extremely difficult competition, with teams being prepared for a lot longer, with excellent players, with excellent coaches.

“Manchester really live in a period that needs stability.

“A stability that the club wants to give me, a stability that the club gives me, a stability that the fans give me, but that the press does not accept very well,” Mourinho stated.

Manchester United is at the 6th position on the league table, and much more is expected of the team regardless of their seemingly poor start to the season.
