Mourinho hits out at Newcastle

Jose Mourinho has hit out at Newcastle, insisting that they only raised their game this weekend because they were playing against Chelsea.
Newcastle surrendered a two-goal lead but still rallied to earn a point against the Premier League champions at St. James’ Park on Saturday.
Portuguese boss Mourinho saw his side struggle to control the threat of the revitalised Toon, who are still looking for their first win of the season.
The Chelsea manager has never won a match at St. James’ Park, losing on all three occasions. He slammed: “I think maybe one of the reasons why Newcastle over the years doesn’t get good positions is because of this mentality, it’s because they choose some matches to sweat blood and in other matches, they don’t.

“This is an attitude typical of a team that wins nothing.” But Mourinho was complimentary of his rivals and insists that they were worth the point – despite believing they do not do it often enough.
He said: “The reality is that they fought hard, they gave everything, they followed a line that many pundits gave straight away.
“You have to fight, you have to kick, you have to tackle, you have to run – so they were exactly that, and they fought for a point, and I think they deserved a point the way they fought.” Ramires and Willian both found the net in the final 10 minutes as Chelsea clawed their way back from 2-0 down.
