Mourinho resumes at Manchester United July 1

Published

The Jose Mourinho-to-Manchester United story was revved up this week, with Portuguese and Spanish media claiming he has now signed a pre-contract to take over this summer.

And now Madrid-based Marca have produced the actual date the Portuguese will take over at Old Trafford: the 1st of July.

Despite Louis van Gaal haven ridden out a couple of winter storms, the feeling remains that he won’t see out his 3-year contract, and will either walk, or be sacked in the summer.

Which would leave the seat vacant, for Jose Mourinho to take over, on the 1st of July, to be exact; fresh for pre-season.

Having been sacked by Chelsea in December, the Portuguese now looks nailed to be the next manager at Old Trafford.

Marca claim that the United hierarchy are ready to sack Van Gaal and install Ryan Giggs in the meantime if results don’t drastically improve, but that Mourinho won’t be brought in until the end of this season under any circumstances.
