Mourinho storms out of interview after Hull City draw

Manchester United Boss Jose Mourinho was apparently more frustrated than the rest of the team after witnessing his side held to a 0-0 draw by Hull City at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

After responding to series of questions, Mourinho stormed out of the post-match interview when asked what upset him about referee Mike Jones’ performance. He said, “If you do not know football, you should not have a microphone in your hand.”

Hull goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic was at his best throughout the match; for though the Red Devils dominated the match in ball possession, and creating the best goalscoring opportunities, they could not find a way past the Tigers goalkeeper.

The single point keeps United in sixth place, while Hull moved off the bottom of the table now above Sunderland.

But after failing to close the gap on Liverpool in fourth, Mourinho was visibly frustrated when conducting his post-match interview.

“We didn’t score. You don’t score, it is not possible to win,” the Portuguese manager said.

“Their goalkeeper was good,” he added. “We needed to score, we needed more time to play. If you played 35-40 minutes in both halves, it is a lot.

“I think Hull City tried to see where they could go, the way they could behave and tried to see what the referee would allow them to do.

“They had the feedback and were comfortable to do what they did. I am not critical of that. They are fighting against relegation and every point is gold.”

Next game for United will be against champions Leicester City on Sunday, while Hull will host title challengers Liverpool on Saturday.
