Murray destroys Djokovic, ends year as World No. 1

World Tennis star Andy Murray beat rival Novak Djokovic on Sundayevening in straight sets to win the ATP World Tour Finals, to end the year as world No. 1.

Murray, in a showdown at The O2 worthy of two prize heavyweights, finished his sensational season in style by thrashing Djokovic to win the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals for the first time.

The Wimbledon and Olympic champion, who had lost 13 of his last 15 matches to Djokovic since the 2013 Wimbledon final, including the French Open final in June, battered his old rival into submission to win 6-3 6-4 in 103 minutes, and extends his winning streak to 24 matches.

Other than the title and the world No. 1 spot, a cool $1,130,000 dollars goes to the winner of the match. Murray – the winner – takes it all. And for Murray, BBC Sports Personality of the Year award and a knighthood may follow.
