Musa, Ikeme, Ighalo, Moses declare war on Egypt

Super Eagles quartet of Ahmed Musa, Carl Ikeme, Odion Ighalo and Victor Moses declared total war on Egypt when both teams battle in Friday’s first leg crucial AFCON qualifier.

Speaking after the team’s evening training at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, the players maintained that with determination and hard work, the Egyptians will no hiding place on Friday.

“The Egyptians are fast and play more from the wings but we are ready to play with all we have,” Musa said.

The Super Eagles captain added that, “We are going to attack them from the blast of the whistle to ensure that we pick the three points at stake, we don’t mind the scoreline.” Also speaking on the match, goalkeeper Carl Ikeme expressed confidence that the team will go for nothing but victory in the match.

He said with the array of stars on Eagles line up he was confident that Nigeria would overtake the Pharaohs on the log at the end of the encounter and put them under pressure in the return leg four days later in Alexandria.

The duo of Victor Moses and Watford striker Odion Ighalo stressed that the Eagles have not excuse for failure.

“We respect the Egyptians in the continent going by their pedigree but we not afraid of them,” Ighalo said.

According to Moses, “We will the match the Egyptians fire-for-fire and we have what it takes to be victorious.”
