‘My future is here at Chelsea’ – Willian after scoring winner against Newcastle

Chelsea forward, Willian has denied rumours linking him with a move away from Stamford Bridge after his goal sealed victory over Newcastle United on Saturday.

Pedro had put the Blues ahead in the 9th minute when he collected David Luiz’s ball over the top and fired past Martin Dubravka, before Ciaran Clark’s powerful header levelled both sides five minutes to halftime.

Willian then scored his first goal in the Premier League since scoring in the 4-0 away win at Burnley last October, to help Chelsea tighten their grip on top four spot.

“I think it’s always difficult in the Premier League,” the Brazilian said after the game.

“We have to be more clinical. Today we couldn’t do that but we have the quality to do it in the next games.

“But I think the character was good and the most important is to win the game.

“I scored a good goal. I found the space and put the ball exactly where I wanted.

When asked about stories linking him with a move away from Chelsea, Willian said: “My future is here at Chelsea, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I didn’t see the papers.”

The result leaves Chelsea fourth on the table, six points clear of Arsenal, who they face at Emirates Stadium in their next game next weekend.
