Residents of the new site area of Oba Ile town in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State were thrown into disarray when a couple were found dead in their house.
The lifeless bodies of Mr. Femi Oguntunwase,  and his wife, Modupe, were both found in the sitting room of their apartment with a bottle of palm oil beside them with the cause of their deaths still yet to be ascertained.
According to a source, the death of the couple still baffles many as the pair were seen in the morning only to be found dead in the afternoon.
“We saw the husband in the morning, but in the afternoon, they were found dead.” The source said.
The source noted that the couple may have died after having breakfast together as a bowl of pap and some balls of akara were seen beside the deceased.
A bottle of palm oil was also seen inside the deceased’s mouths indicating that they may have ingested poison and gulped palm oil as an elixir to suppress it.
“There was palm oil in their mouths. It may be when they were having stomach pain that they drank the palm oil. We also discovered that the death happened after their breakfast.”
The Public Relations Officer of the Ondo state police command, Mr. Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident, and informed that no arrest had been made yet.
“We got the report of the incident on Saturday and we are still investigating to get to the cause of the death. The bodies have been deposited at the hospital for autopsy; it is after the autopsy that we will know the next step to take.”
