N1.4tn fine: Osinbajo denies meeting MTN

Published

‎Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has denied being part of any talks, or holding a meeting with MTN executives to negotiate the N1.4 trillion fine slammed on telecoms company, MTN Nigeria, by the Nigeria Communications commission.

NCC had imposed the fine on the company for allegedly violating its directive on SIM deactivation.
The Vice President through his media aide, Laolu Akande stated that media reports about the vice president having intervened to have the matter resolved through adoption of a staggered payment model to clear the fine, are untrue.
