N18, 000 pepper soup lands man in court

An Abuja based man; Friday Benjamin appeared before a Gudu Upper Area Court in the Federal Capital Territory over charges of hateful spilling over a pot of pepper soup at a restaurant.

37-year-old Benjamin who is facing a charge of mischief according to the prosecutor, Urom Inah, one Francis Urasi who resides in Area 10, behind Murg Plaza, Garki had reported the case on the 26th of February at the Garki police station.

In his report, Urasi alleged that Benjamin hatefully spilled over a pot of pepper soup which amounts to the sum of N18, 000 and broke three chairs worth N16, 500. The report by Uransi also claims that Benjamin destroyed the bonnet of a vehicle parked outside the restaurant belonging to a man identified as Mr Osiat Igboanugo.

According to the prosecutor, Benjamin’s offence contravened Section 327 of the Penal Code with the presiding judge Alhaji Umar Kagarko, granted the accused who pleaded not guilty with N100, 000 bail and one reliable surety in like sum.
