The clock may have started ticking for runaway ex-Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, Aldulrasheed Maina, as the International Police Organisation (INTERPOL) has issued a “Red Notice” for his arrest.

With the development, Maina will be liable to arrest by security agencies in any part of the world.

This was disclosed in a statement by Wilson Uwajuren, the Head of Media and Publicity of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to the statement, Maina was declared wanted for his alleged part in the fraudulent biometric contracts worth N2.1 billion.

Maina has been absent from court since he was arraigned in absentia alongside a former Head of Service of the Federation, Stephen Oransaye. Though his lawyer, Esther Uzoma, claimed he was not at large and that the EFCC never invited him, he is believed to be in the United Arab Emirate.
