Nadal eyes first ever ATP World Tour title

World number one ranked tennis men’s player Rafael Nadal has admitted that one of the biggest goals left in his career is to win the ATP World Tour Finals.

The Spaniard has won virtually everything there is to win in the sport, but is yet to win the end-of-the-year trophy after ending up as runner-up on two occasions.

“My big goal right now is to play as best as possible,” he said at a Sabadell Bank event in Malaga.

“I never won the World Tour Finals so I would like to do it, but seven other players want it too.”

Nadal, 31, has secured 16 Grand Slams, two Olympic gold medals, four Davis Cups and 30 Masters 1000 titles.

As the world no.1, he will lead the race to the World Tour in London come November, 2017 as he gets another shot at the title that has evaded him thus far.

The line-up is not yet confirmed for the tournament, although Roger Federer has booked his spot alongside his great rival.

Other world stars expected at the event include, Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem, Grigor Dimitrov, Marin Cilic, Pablo Carreno Busta, Sam Querrey, Kevin Anderson, David Goffin, Tomas Berdych and Roberto Bautista Agut.
