Nadal wins 10th Barcelona Open title

Tennis superstar Rafael Nadal roared to a 10th Barcelona Open title, without dropping a set, after a final victory over Dominic Thiem.

The world No. 5 continued his excellent start to the season on clay, after winning the Monte Carlo Masters the week before, to add a second title to his 2017 collection.

Playing on a court recently named after him, Nadal added a record-equalling 10th title at the ATP 500 event, the same number he’s won in Monte-Carlo, as he battled past the Austrian fourth seed with a 6-4 6-1 win.

Having already seen off Rogerio Dutra Silva, Kevin Anderson, Hyeon Chung and Horacio Zeballos without dropping a set, Thiem was the next victim as Nadal once again stormed to a title on clay.

The Austrian had take out world o. 1 Sir Andy Murray in the semi finals but, in truth, Nadal is a step up on the surface and he was unable to really push him after losing the first set.

Thiem had his moments, but the king of clay once again triumphed and he’s further strengthened his claims to lift a 10th French Open title.
