NASARAWA GOV POLL: Court grants PDP, PDM access to screen election materials

The Nasarawa State governorship candidates of the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have both been granted access to inspect electoral materials used in the March 9 election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was given the order to allow both candidates inspect the materials on Tuesday by the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lafia, the state capital.

While ruling on the ‘Motion Ex-parte,’ filed by the two candidates, Abba Mohammed, Chairman of the Tribunal, ordered INEC to avail them access to all the materials used in the governorship polls.

Recall that the governorship candidate of the PDM, Musa Nagogo, challenged the victory of Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the omission of his name and party logo in the election.

David Ombugadu, of the PDP also challenged the March 9 governorship election in the state.

The pair have now gotten their wish after they earlier prayed the court for an order compelling INEC to allow them inspect the register and other vital documents used in the conduct of the election unhindered.
