NASARAWA: Unknown gunmen kill man for exposing members of a crime syndicate

A man simply identified as Yakubu Mama has been murdered by unknown gunmen in Nasarawa State who took his life for exposing members of a crime syndicate.

The victim who is an official of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Nasarawa State Chapter, was slain on the claim that he informed the police about the activities of a notorious crime syndicate operating in the Keffi-Karu-Abuja axis of the state.

His death was confirmed by DSP Idrisu Kennedy, the Police Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Command who revealed that one suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of Mama.

According to MACBAN chairman, Alhaji Muhammed Hussaini, Mama who had also provided useful tips that had prevented conflicts between herders and farmers in Keffi and Karu local government areas of the state was taken away from his house by the gunmen who took him to a nearby bush where he was murdered.

The MACBAN chairman revealed that Mama’s body was recovered from the scene of the incident after a search by vigilante group members and police Special Anti- robbery Squad.
