Why APC banished Sen Omo-Agege, wants him arrested

As the race to fill positions in the Ninth Assembly heats up, the Delta State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has pushed for one of its own to fill a principal position.

The Delta APC has made a case for Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who represents Delta Central, to fill the seat of Deputy Senate President in the 9th Senate.

The director, communications, APC Delta State, Nick Ovuakporie, stated this in a statement he made available to newsmen on Thursday.

According to Ovuakporie, the Prophet Jones Ode Erue led State Working Committee (SWC) of the APC, unanimously endorsed the candidacy of Omo-Agege for Deputy Senate President.

He added that the decision came following high powered lobbying by other critical stakeholders across the country to ensure Omo-Agege emerge as Deputy Senate President.

Ovuakporie cautioned “disgruntled elements” in Delta State issuing ill-mannered and unauthorized statements in the name of the state APC to stop such as the party will not hesitate to employ the big stick on any one found culpable.

The position of the Senate Deputy President like the Senate President is being fiercely contested. One of the senators Omo-Agege may have to battle with for the position is a senator-elect from South-East, the former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu.
