APC senators use majority advantage to block motion on Buhari’s Democracy Day speech

The National Assembly has assured that work on the 2020 budget estimate would be completed before the end of October.

The President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmed Lawan gave the assurance on Tuesday during the joint session of the federal lawmakers.

According to Lawan, the committees of both chambers of the National Assembly would ensure the completion of work on the 2020 budget estimate by October ending.

He then called on all Ministers and Heads of MDAs to appear before the committees to defend their budgets on time, before the end of the month.

He said the lawmakers will bring to bear the same commitment with which it passed the Medium Term Expenditure Framework, which is a prelude to the budget.
