N'Assembly postpones resumption

The National Assembly has postponed its resumption of plenary earlier slated for Tuesday, September 25.

The Clerk of the National Assembly, M. A. Sani-Omolori, announced this via a statement on Sunday evening.

He said the postponement was to allow members concentrate on primaries and other political activities going on around the country.

There have been calls for the National Assembly to reconvene, mostly from the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership, who have not hidden plans to impeach Senate President Bukola Saraki, and more recently, Speaker Yakubu Dogara, over their defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Other members of the public have also been calling on the leadership of the assembly to reconvene and attend to pressing national issues like passing the budget for 2019 elections and the electoral act amendment, both of which were recently worked on at the committee level.
