2020 budget to be passed on November 28

According to a House of Representatives member who represents Ikpoba-Okha/Egor Constituency, Ehiozuwa Agbonnayima, the threat by the National Assembly to veto President Muhammadu Buhari on the electoral act bill was a mission impossible.

Ehiozuwa, while answering questions from journalists in Benin City on Monday noted that it was impossible for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP lawmakers to gain the majority of members sufficient to veto the President on the bill.

He said the president had the choice to be selective on which bill to assent to.

He said, “I can tell you I don’t see how it is possible for the PDP lawmakers to have the majority to veto President Buhari on the amended Electoral Act.

“We need to move forward and not play partisan politics. We need to be more focus. We are doing our constitutional duty and we have performed it but the President has the right not to assent to the bill.

“Can we get 240 members to override Mr. President? I do not think so”, he insisted.
