NBC bans 9ice, Olamide, Davido

For the umpteenth time, the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has ordered radio stations in Nigeria not to air two songs recently released by YBNL’s Olamde titled ‘Wo’ and ‘Wavy Level’.

The NBC has also ordered radio stations not to broadcast the remix version of Davido’s If and 9ice’s track titled ‘Living Things’ for alleged violation of its rules and regulations.

The order by the NBC is coming days after Federal Ministry of Health in a post on Twitter condemned the music video of Olamide’s new song stating that the content of the video contravened the Tobacco Control Act of 2015.

In the Twitter post, the Ministry of Health also noted that the video by Olamide contained scenes showing youths of different ages openly smoking substances believed to be either cigarettes or narcotics which could encourage second-hand smoking among underage children in the country.
