The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) Tuesday reopened its testing center in Kano.

The NCDC Director-General, Dr. Chikwe Ihekwazu, who announced the reopening of the center on his Twitter handle, said testing for COVID-19 had resumed at the facility.

The center suspended operation last Wednesday after it exhausted its testing kits and the lab got contaminated.

Kano has been rocked by reported mysterious mass deaths in the last few days.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Monday directed a two-week total lockdown of the state in a bid to address the crisis.
