Ndidi happy to score first ever Premier League goal

Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has expressed his delight after his side sealed a 3-0 win against Huddersfield at the King Power Stadium on New Year’s Day.

Goals from Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani and Marc Albrighton helped the home side secure their first win since December 13 against Southampton in the league.

Ndidi was in play throughout the game which ended their five-game winless run in all competitions as his contributions spurred Claude Puel’s men to the emphatic victory.

“What a way to start the new year.. Great win today!!! happy new year everyone #blessed ?,” Ndidi tweeted after the game.

In the other Premier League games on New Year’s Day, Manchester United bounced back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park.

With the win, United leaped into second on the league table thanks to second-half goals by Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard.

At Turf Moor, Liverpool extended their unbeaten run in the English Premier League to 13 games following a hard fought 2-1 win against Burnley.

Newcastle United pipped Stoke City 1-0, while Brighton drew 2-2 against Bournemouth.
