Ndidi, Iheanacho in action as Leicester bow to Spurs at Wembley

Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were in action for Leicester City in their Premier League defeat to Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday.

Ndidi started the game and served as the main player in the midfield in the absence of injured Nampalys Mendy, while Iheanacho joined the play in the 72nd minute.

Spurs got ahead in the 33rd minute of the encounter when Davinson Sanchez headed into the back of the net from inside the Leicester area.

The hosts held on to their lead to stay ahead at the break, as several efforts made by the Foxes to equalise proved abortive.

But Leicester earned a penalty on the hour mark, and substitute Jamie Vardy jogged in straight to the penalty area to take it, but his effort was saved by Hugo Lloris.

Three minutes after the penalty miss, Spurs extended their lead in the via Christian Eriksen, Vardy halved the deficit in the 76th minute, before Heung-Min Son sealed the win in added time.

The 3-1 victory for Tottenham helps them stay in the race for the title, as they stand two points behind second-placed Manchester City, who host Chelsea later on Sunday.
