Ndidi, Iheanacho in play as Mahrez rescues Leicester; Spurs ease past Huddersfield

Super Eagles duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were in action for Leicester City as a late equalizer by Riyad Mahrez earned Leicester a point against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Trailing 1-0 after Joshua King’s converted penalty, Leicester were heading to a defeat at home before Mahrez curled home a free-kick in the 97th minute of the game to level both sides.

Iheanacho, who came in as a substitute on the hour mark, could have equalised earlier but squandered a clean chance before injury time.

The Foxes remain without a league victory since mid-January, but Saturday’s result was enough to keep them on the eighth spot in the table.

At Wembley Stadium, Tottenham eased past Huddersfield, thanks to two goals by Son Heung-min in each halves.

With the win, Spurs moved one point behind second-placed Manchester United, who play away to Crystal Palace on Sunday.

In the other Premier league games on Saturday, Burnley secured their first win in 12 games by coming from behind to beat 10-man Everton 2-1, as Watford pipped West Brom 1-0.

Swansea City thumped West Ham 4-1 while Southampton drew goalless with Stoke City.
