Wilfred Ndidi vs N'golo Kante

Super Eagles duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were in action for Leicester City in their Premier League battle with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

On a Saturday of surprises in the Premier league, a Jamie Vardy early second-half goal helped the Foxes beat the Blues 1-0, as the Maurizio Sarri side fell to their first defeated at home this season.

Chelsea were dominant before the break and failed to convert a host of chances as their visitors had to withstand heavy pressure.

The defeat for Chelsea leaves them level on points with fifth-placed Arsenal, who beat Burnley 3-1 earlier on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Super Eagles defender was in action for Brighton in their 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

A goal in each half from David Brooks earned Bournemouth the victory over 10-man Brighton, who had Lewis Dunk sent off in the 73rd minute for a tackle on Callum Wilson.

The win lifts Bournemouth up three places to eighth, while Brighton remain in 13th.

At the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City were stunned by vising Crystal Palace, who held on to beat the champions 3-2.

Defeat was City’s first in a home league match since 7 April, and came despite them leading on 27 minutes through Ilkay Gundogan’s header.

Jeffrey Schlupp, Andros Townsend and captain Luka Milivojevic all scored to make it 3-1, before Kevin de Bruyne pulled one back for the hosts, whose subsequent efforts could not earn them a point from the game.

The win for Palace was their first at City since 1990 and it lifted them six points clear of the relegation zone, while Pep Guardiola side trail by four points to Liverpool at the top of the table.

Nigeria forward, Isaac Success was a 89th-minute substitute for Watford, who eased past West Ham, thanks to goals by Troy Deeney and Gerard Deulofeu.

In other Premier League clashes played concurrently, Newcastle were held to a goalless draw at home by Fulham; and Huddersfield lost 1-3 to Southampton.
