EPL: Ndidi, Iheanacho subbed on, Balogun benched as 10-man Leicester hold Brighton

Super Eagles duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho both played as substitutes for Leicester City in their 1-1 draw against Brighton on Saturday.

Nigeria defender, Leon Balogun was on his part an unused substitute for hosts Brighton in the Premier League encounter that saw the visitors reduced to 10 men from the first 30 minutes.

Glenn Murray put Brighton ahead in the 15th minute when he headed Anthony Knockaert’s corner into the net, before James Maddison was shown a second yellow card – barely a minute after his first caution.

Things went from bad to worse for the Foxes, but Jamie Vardy finally fired in an equaliser via a penalty with 10 minutes left on the clock.

The England striker sent goalkeeper Mat Ryan the wrong way from the spot after Beram Kayal had brought down Iheanacho inside the area.

The draw keeps 10th-placed Leicester three points clear of Brighton, who remain in 12th.

In other Premier League encounters played concurrently, Manchester United were also held to draw by Crystal Palace while Manchester City thrashed West Ham.

While it was goalless at Old Trafford, goals by with David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane (brace) handed Pep Guardiola’s side a 0-4 win.

Elsewhere, Fulham edged Southampton 3-2 as Everton pipped Cardiff City 1-0, while Liverpool thrashed Watford 3-0.

Super Eagles forward, Isaac Success came in as a second half substitute, but goals by Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Robert Firmino gave the 10-man Reds the win at Watford.

Watford slipped to 9th on the table while Liverpool stay two points behing Manchester City at the top of the table.
