The opening of section one of the ongoing Apapa Wharf Road project has lessened the burden of staying long in a protracted traffic. Workers and truckers who spoke with New Telegraph yesterday said that with light traffic on the road business activities had returned to the Apapa port community.

It was learnt that the journey on a five kilometers road between Ijora bridge and Wharf road axis which would take three hours was just five minutes yesterday.

A stevedoring worker, Mrs Ibukun Makinde, explained that it took her only eight minutes between Iganmu Bridge and Wharf road to reach her office. She added those only partial queues caused by few trucks were sighted at the Lagos Port entrance.
