New Zealand: Mass murderer Tarrant shows no regrets, to represent self in court

New Zealand police have charged Australian Brenton Harrison Tarrant with terrorism after he was accused of killing 51 people and wounding dozens of others in two Christchurch mosques in March.

During the attacks, 42 people were killed at the Al Noor mosque, seven were killed at the Linwood mosque and two died later in hospitals.

An additional murder charge was given over the death of a Turkish national, who was wounded in the attack and died earlier this month.

Two more attempted murder charges have also been filed, bringing the total number of murder charges against him to 51.

According to Associated Press, Tarrant is next due to appear in court on June 14, after being remanded in custody and ordered to undergo psychiatric assessment to determine if he was fit to stand trial.
