Newcastle beat Arsenal to reach Carabao Cup final

Newcastle United have secured their spot in the final of the Carabao Cup after beating Arsenal home and away in the semi-finals.

Trailing 2-0 from the first leg at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal walked on tightrope and need a spectacular performance to pull off a comeback.

But it was Newcastle who sealed yet another 2-0 win in the second leg, advancing to the final with a 4-0 aggregate victory.

Jacob Murphy opened scoring for the hosts in the 19th minute after an Alexanded Isak goal was ruled out.

Anthony Gordon then scored the second to give on 52 minutes to seal the rout over Arsenal.

Newcastle will now play either Tottenham Hotspur or Liverpool in final. Spurs, who lead 1-0 from the first leg, will face Liverpool at Anfield in the second semifinal on Thursday.
