Neymar scores four, Cavani equals club record as PSG hammer Dijon

World’s most expensive player, Neymar, netted four times out of a total eight for Paris St-Germain in Wednesday’s Ligue 1 encounter with Dijon at the Parc de Princes.

Leading 4-0 at half-time courtesy of goals by Angel Di Maria (2), Cavani and Neymar, the Brazilian scored the next two to complete a hat-trick before Kylian Mbappe made it 7-0 and Neymar added another from the penalty spot.

With his goal in the game, Cavani increased his tally to 156 in all competitions for PSG, equalling the record of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

And Neymar’s decision to take the 83rd-minute penalty denied the Uruguayan the chance to make club history.

PSG lead the French Ligue 1 table by 11 points from nearest rivals Olympique Lyon after 21 games.

They have won their past eight league and cup games, scoring 31 goals and conceding six.

PSG will play Lyon, who also defeated Guingamp, on Sunday.
