The Nigeria Football federation (nff) has confirmed that the U-23 Eagles will be participating in the annual Toulon Invitational Tournament billed for May 18 till 29 in France.

According to Ademola Olajire, NFF Assistant Director of media and publicity, Nigeria will join South Africa, Japan, Mexico, Czechs Republic, England, France and Portugal for the tournament which is aimed at preparing the U-23 Eagles for the Rio Olympics scheduled for August.

The coach-Samson Siasia led team resumed camping for the home-based last week in Abuja with the United States of
America being proposed for the final camping for the foreign based players.

“The details of where they would be camping for the Olympic Games have not been confirmed. But what I can confirm to
you is that they would be going for a tournament in Toulon, France in May,” Olajire said.

“This is an annual tournament that Nigeria has been participating for some time now. The Flying Eagles used to represent Nigeria in the tournament but now I think the choice of the U-23 team is to add in their preparation for the Olympic Games,” he added.
