Siasia to feature second team against Colombia

Coach Samson Siasia has finally been handed the mandate to lead the Super Eagles to the 2017 African Nations Cup finals in Gabon.

This followed a truce brokered between the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, President, Amaju Pinnick and the President of Nigerian Football Coaches Association, Bitrus Bewarang.

The CAF instructor said the NFF President had agreed that Siasia would lead the team to Gabon next year if he secured the ticket.

Pinnick and Bewarang had earlier exchanged hot words over the comment by the former that Nigeria is searching for a foreign coach.

But Bewarang later disclosed that both of them have buried their hatchets and agreed that the assignment would be given to Siasia if he earns the ticket.

“We are now asking for the cooperation of all Nigerians, coaches and stake holders to beat Egypt and qualify,” Bewarang said.

“The first statement from the President was out of anger and everything has been resolved.”
