NFF to replace Siasia with Salisu Yusuf

Barring any last minutes change, the Nigeria Football Federation has concluded plans to replace embattled U-23 Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, with Super Eagles Assistant Coach, Salisu Yusuf.

Siasia drew the ire of NFF after his revelation to the media of the non-payment of salaries and neglect of the national team who are preparing for the U-23 African qualifying tournament billed for Senegal next month.

The NFF eggheads while waiting for Siasia to reply to the query issued to him, are planning to deploy Salisu Yussuf as U-23 Eagles head coach with Fatai Amao and Ogunbote as assistants.

They are furious because Siasia and other national team coaches were told why salaries were being delayed and that efforts are in top gear to ensure the salaries are paid soonest.

But Siasia hinged his outburst on the decision to reward the homebased Eagles with the sum of $2000 each for qualifying for African Nations Championship despite the cry of lack of funds.

Also, virtually the entire officials of the NFF stormed Belgium recently when the Super Eagles played two international friendlies in Belgium, a decision that drew criticisms from many football stakeholders.
