Ngige inaugurates NSITF board amid showdown with NLC

The board of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has been inaugurated on Monday by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.

The inauguration of the board took place at the banquet hall of the presidential villa in Abuja despite the showdown with the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC).

Recall that organised labour, on Sunday, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate the involvement of Ngige in the affairs of the NSITF.

The NLC lived up to its promise to rally its members in a protest against Ngige in Abuja on Monday.

NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, while speaking over the development on Sunday night explained that the protest would not be against the inauguration of the NSITF board, but the manner in which Ngige superintended the affairs of the labour sector in the past three years and the recent attacks on protesters at his residence.
