NGX: Equities market consolidates gain with N247bn profit for investors
The Nigerian equities market consolidated the profit made on Thursday with another N247bn profit for investors on Friday.
This followed a surge in the share prices of stocks like FLOURMILL, CAVERTON, and ETI amongst others on the trading floor.
After five hours of trading at the capital market, the equity capitalization increased to N56.001 trillion from N55.753 trillion recorded by the bourse the previous day.
The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) increased to 97,456.62 from 97,025.17.
The market breadth was positive as 32 stocks advanced and 19 stocks declined, while 64 stocks remained unchanged in 8,597 deals.
FLOUR MILL, CAVERTON, and ETI led other gainers with 9.99%, 9.96%, and 9.95% growth each in share prices to close at N54.50, N2.54, and N23.75 from the previous N49.55, N2.31, and N21.60 per share.

On the flip side, DAAR COMMUNICATION, DEAPCAP, and PZ led other price decliners as they shed 9.72%, 8.82%, and 8.48% each to close at N0.65, N0.93, and N15.65 from the initial N0.72, N1.02, and N17.10 per share.
On the volume index, JAPAUL GOLD led trading with 105 million shares valued at N274 million in 300 deals followed by FBNH which traded 43 million shares valued at N1.2 billion in 508 deals.
ZENITH BANK traded 28 million shares valued at N1 billion in 510 deals.
On the value index, FBNH recorded the highest value for the day trading stocks worth N1.2 billion in 508 deals followed by ZENITH BANK which traded equities worth N1 billion in 510 deals.
GTCO traded shares valued at N521 million in 353 deals.
