Niger: Chieftains threaten defection over consensus candidacy

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Government Area congress on Saturday suffered setback as protesters from various LGAs invaded the State Government House condemning the affirmation of candidates, vowing that if nothing was done, there will be mass exodus from the party.

Findings by the Sunday Telegraph had it that in some local government areas, there were protests against the affirmation of the executives.

New Telegraph Correspondent also gathered that the state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello was missing at his hometown in Kotangora local government area.

The Governor who was supposed to be at his hometown, Kontagora was seen at the wedding of the son of former Chief Judge of Niger state, Justice Jibrin Ndajiwo.
