Niger Delta militants can’t divert my govt –Buhari (Photos)
President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed that attacks on oil and gas installations in the Niger Delta by militants cannot divert the attention of his administration.
The President stated this at the Ramadan Breaking of Fast with the Diplomatic Corp at the State House in Abuja.
He stated that it has indeed been a challenging time for Nigeria. “But our government has striven to meet these challenges head-on and with a proper commitment to address them. Much has been achieved but clearly much remains to be done.”

The President, who spoke on a number of issues, said it was unfortunate that the security challenge witnessed by the country in the oil rich region has unfortunately reared its head again.
The President said: “We are addressing the situation and are hopeful of a speedy resolution. No group of terrorists will divert this government from engaging with all interest groups to tackle the problems of the Niger Delta, namely youth unemployment, poor infrastructure and ecological damage”.
On the economy, President Buhari said his administration was committed to the strict implementation of the 2016 budget while also assuring that it improves environment for doing business in the country.
The President also restated the resolve of his administration to fight the anti corruption war to a logical conclusion.
