State Commandant, NSCDC, Mr. Desmond Agu, while confirming attacks on oil pipelines operated by Nigerian Agip Oil Company, said the corps had deployed some operatives in the creeks of Bayelsa.

“The pipelines located within Agip’s oilfields were attacked. We got the reports that the pipelines were attacked when they had been shut down, so there is no loss of crude or leaks.

“We have dispatched our men and we have intensified patrols in the area. We are working round the clock to protect critical infrastructure in Bayelsa.”

Militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers, NDA,  claimed responsibility for attack on Agip’s Ogboinbiri-Tebidaba and Clough Creek-Tebidaba Crude Oil pipelines in Bayelsa on Thursday.
