Nigeria loses out on AFCON cup

The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday lost out of the qualification for the 2017 edition of the African Cup of Nations, AFCON, after losing 1-0 to Egypt in Alexandria, Egypt.

The 2017 edition of AFCON will hold in Gabon.

Egypt qualified for the tournament after missing out on the last three consecutive editions. The North African country also holds the record of winning the tournament for a record seven times.

The Super Eagles, who are second on the Group G table, were held to a 1-1 draw on Friday in Kaduna during the first leg on the double header matches between Nigeria and Egypt.
