Nigeria is now ruled by a tyrant - PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on its twitter handle, on Monday, lashed out at the leadership style of President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a tyrant.

PDP said, “Nigerians are living in fear of the tyrant. Activists who were very vocal under President Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua and Goodluck Jonathan are now afraid to speak.”

Other tweets by the party to drive home their accusation read: “Tyrants use same strategy, they ride on popular demand. The one in Aso Rock is using ‘corruption fight to prepare his tyranny.’

“For the first time in our 17 years of democracy, fuel price was increased and Nigerian labour unions became afraid to challenge government.

“Those who defend tyranny will one day become the greatest victims of it. History has many examples of this.”

The party’s accusation may not be unconnected with the alleged lopsided fight against corruption, as many claim that the war on corruption has beamed more on PDP members and those who criticize the government.
