Nigeria, UAE sign accord on solar energy & AI development

The governments of Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates have both signed an accord on the development of solar energy and artificial intelligence.

Reports say the agreement was reached in Abuja during a meeting between the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu and the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Nigeria, Fahad Al Taffaq Obeid Mohammed.

According to Onu, there are solid efforts by the ministry to develop Artificial Intelligence through the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure,(NASENI).

The Minister also added that the Federal government is exploiting the advantage of her geographical position along the equator to harvest abundant solar energy to provide energy to rural areas and stimulate the economy.
