Nigeria wins gold, silver at Rio Paralympics

Team Nigeria athletes started their quest for glory at the ongoing Rio Paralympics on a brighter note winning two medals on Friday.

Powerlifter Latifat Tijani won silver. She lifted 101 to smashed a Paralympic record which was short lived as China’s Dandan Hu set a new one of 102.

Nigeria’s Roland Ezuruike has set a new Paralympic record of 190kg to win gold in the men’s -54kg.
