Nigerian govt approves N820bn for Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Road, Bodo-Bonny projects
The Federal Government has approved N820 billion for the completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano dual carriageway and the Bodo-Bonny road, including bridges across the Opobo Channel.
The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja by his Special Adviser (Media), Orji Orji.
He said the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved the re-scoping and downward review of the contract to N740,797,204,713.25 and N80,076,361,036.13 respectively.
The minister tasked Julius Berger (Nig.) Plc, the contractor handling the project, to fast-track completion.
He said: “We are appealing to you not to try to increase the contract sum because it will not be possible,” the Minister stated. “We have written to the President to approve that if JBN Plc does not accept the N740bn, we will terminate the contract.”
