NIGERIAN SOLDIERS’ MASSACRE: Boko Haram Releases Tragic Video

Published

on

A purported video of the alleged massacre of troops at Metele village in Guzamala Local Government Area of Borno State, was released yesterday by the terrorist group, Boko Haram. The two minutes, 53 seconds video, showed gory footage of soldiers mowed down by suspected Boko Haram fighters, who appeared heavily armed. As they shot and killed the fighting troops, so did they seize the fallen soldiers’ arms, as the heavy shooting lasted. In the video, the insurgents were heard chanting Allahu Akbar (loosely translated to mean ‘God is great), as they drove dangerously in Hilux and other trucks.

The latest attack further questioned the capacity of the fighting troops, in terms of availability of equipment and their sophistication. This much was echoed in another video, where a voice suspected to be a soldier’s, was heard calling on the Federal Government to come to the aid of the fighting troops.

“See what the Nigerian Army are doing us; see where they brought us to this desert zone, where there is nobody (sic). See how they killed our fellow soldiers. See how they burnt them inside Hilux,” he alleged in a rather painful tone. Another voice was heard alleging:

However, efforts to get the response of the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), and the Army on the development did not yield results. In a response to an enquiry made by Saturday Telegraph the Acting Director of Defence Information, Brig-Gen. John Agim, said he waa not available, and so could not address the issue.

In a short message to our correspondent, Agim said: “I have being (sic) on tour of operations. In fact I started the tour before this incident happened and so I was not on the ground to be briefed. Please contact (Brig.) Gen (Texas) Chukwu”.
