Nigerians support Aisha for criticising Buhari publicly, poll shows

Nigerians from different walks of life appeared to have pitched their tent with the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha over public criticism of the president’s administration.

Though Mrs. Buhari came under scathing criticism from some quarters, a poll conducted online by Ripples Nigeria indicated that majority of Nigerians are in support of her public outburst., and scathing remarks about her husband’s cabinet members.

Mrs Buhari had, in an interview with the Hausa service of the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, questioned the several appointments made by her husband, insinuating that many of them never contributed to the electoral victory of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

She, also noted that most of the people who contributed to the victory of her husband have been sidelined.

Sounding much more critical, Mrs Buhari sounded a note of warning that if things continue the way they are, she would not go out of her way in 2019 to canvass for votes for President Buhari or rally women in the country to vote for him.

This unprecedented public criticism got Mrs Buhari harsh words, including the famous ‘she belongs to the kitchen’ statement from President Buhari.

The Ripples Nigeria poll with the question ‘Is Aisha Buhari right to criticise President Buhari publicly’?, showed that majority of Nigerians believe she did the right thing.

More than 54% of respondents answered yes, to the question that had the options of YES, NO and NOT INTERESTED.

Another 39% believe she was wrong by answering ‘No’ while 6% were non committal.

The open criticism of the President by Mrs Buhari came to many as a rude shock, as it was the first time the wife of a sitting president would openly criticise her husband in the history of the country.

I’m actually NOT INTERESTED in another man’s marital affair. The 54% and 39% that voted YES and NO respectively, must be busybodies!

Mr Roland, I’m sorry you are not interested in an issue that affects the general public. If you are not interested, you should be interested in your children’s future, anything done by Buhari’s administration will directly or indirectly affect them. Mr. you should be more than interested.

Now that you have shown a lot of interest on the matter, I can see how the future of your children is glowing like diamond. Please, get off my tail, you’re too myopic for my liking!

Story for the gods. Even Aisha regretted what she said , so your graphical illustrations make no sense.

Aisha has gotten to the height of her public talk. I know she won’t entertain any political question that will implicate her again.
